Concrete stain appeals to many people who want to achieve unique decorative effects for a reasonable cost. you can use stains to create an infinite array of colors and special effects on both interior and exterior surfaces. Concrete stain does more than simply add color. Rather than produce a solid, opaque effect like paint or colored coatings, stains permeate the concrete to infuse it with rich, deep, translucent tones. Some stain manufacturers use adjectives such as "antiqued," "variegated," or "mottled" to describe the distinctive look. Even when treated with the same staining product in the same shade, no two concrete floors, walls, or counter-tops will look alike due to factors such as the composition and age of the concrete and surface porosity. As a mainstream flooring option, stained concrete is known for its beauty and functionality. Its other benefits including being environmentally-friendly, helping to reduce allergens, and ease of maintenance.

For many years, decorative concrete contractors have been using acid-based chemical concrete stains to achieve rich, earth-toned color schemes resembling natural stone, marble, wood, or even leather. But today, contractors are no longer limited to earthy shades. Newer products on the market-such as water- and solvent-based dyes-are greatly expanding the artist's palette with colors ranging from soft pastels to vivid reds, oranges, yellows, and purples. And in some cases, these newer stain products are easier and safer to apply.

Concrete stains are a mixture of water, hydrochloric acid, and acid-soluble metallic salts. Because of concrete's porous qualities, they penetrate and react chemically in the concrete. Concrete stains become a permanent part of the concrete. They're known for their durability and long-lasting color because concrete stains will not fade, chip, or peel off.

Concrete stains are also known for their translucent color. Because of the various conditions of concrete surfaces, concrete stains react differently creating one-of-a-kind color and patterning.

Transform the look of dull concrete into something extraordinary.  Add a beautiful look to your concrete project, inside or outside. Apply just one color of stain to produce a uniform appearance or choose more than one stain  color to create unique color combinations.

SBS Contracting provides a wide variety of metallic epoxy flooring for industrial and commercial properties. For over 15 years, our highly-trained field teams have installed formulated epoxy coatings based on the performance requirements of a given location. We specialize in value engineering metallic epoxy designs that complement your environment and breathe new life into a space, while providing the high-quality, durable flooring that is synonymous with the SBS Contracting name.

Metallic epoxy can be used to coat over existing concrete floors, or designed exclusively for a new flooring system. Basic installation includes a three-step process using a primer, the formulated metallic epoxy, and a clear top coat. Additional top coats can be added for increased scuff resistance and greater protection against constant motion. Metallic epoxy floors can be installed with minimal downtime, and the three dimensional look adds color and depth to conventional floors – making this a popular solution for retail spaces, lobbies, and showrooms, and a preferred solution among interior designers.
